    The choice was largely due to the security of data storage, which is ensured by a whole range of measures, including those that rely on the capabilities of the Btrfs file system (for example, such as Snapshot Replication technology or automatic self-healing of files). With this file server, you can be sure that the failure of one of the hard drives will not lead to data loss.

    Among the requirements for the network drive was performance. It was important that the NAS ensure stable operation of several tasks at once. For example, someone could watch a video, someone could download data, and at the same time another employee would record photographic material that had just been taken at the exhibition. The Synology DS918+ model fully satisfies these requirements, and it still has opportunities to increase performance: expanding memory, installing high-speed solid-state modules to create a system cache. We plan to take advantage of these opportunities in the near future.

    Well, the main requirements for building a remote data storage system were, of course, its communication capabilities. And this DSM operating system, on which all Synology NAS models are built, has no equal! With flexible built-in administration tools and simple file and folder management available with Synology Drive, you can give different employees individual access rights to data. At the same time, access is possible from any client platform from anywhere in the world as if all employees were simultaneously sitting in the office at their desktop PCs.

    Our photographers immediately upload all photographs taken while traveling or just outside the office into separate albums using the Photo Station service, where they immediately become available for layout of the material. Well, with the help of simple but effective office tools built into DSM, such as Calendar or general Chat, employees on the other side of the globe can organize a general meeting in the office to discuss further work plans.
